About Me!

WAIZ WASEY, MD, FAAFP

Hi, I’m Dr. Waiz Wasey. I’m a board certified sleep medicine physician, and I created drsnoozz because I believe good sleep shouldn’t be complicated.

I trained at Mayo Clinic for my sleep medicine fellowship, one of the most respected programs in the country. Before that, I completed my family medicine residency at Southern Illinois University, where I later served as Assistant Professor and Director of Sleep Medicine. I’m board certified in both sleep medicine and family medicine, and I hold a Fellowship designation from the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Today I practice as the lead physician at a sleep clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, where I was named a Top Doc in sleep medicine for 2025 and 2026. I treat patients with everything from obstructive sleep apnea to insomnia to restless legs syndrome, and I work closely with advanced treatments like Inspire and Remede therapy. I also consult for Respicardia on Remede device education.

Sleep medicine isn’t just my job. It’s personal. Years ago I experienced sleep paralysis myself, waking up unable to move and terrified, with no idea what was happening to me. That experience shaped how I practice medicine today. I know how confusing and scary sleep problems can feel when you don’t have the right information.

That’s the gap drsnoozz is built to close. I’ve spent years publishing research (including more than a dozen peer reviewed case reports and studies in journals like Cureus and Sleep), writing textbook chapters on conditions like narcolepsy and delayed sleep phase disorder, and speaking at national conferences. My work has also been featured in The Guardian. But research papers don’t help you sleep better tonight. So I built drsnoozz to translate real sleep science into content you can actually use, whether that’s a quick Instagram carousel debunking a sleep myth or a deeper dive into how your circadian rhythm works.

My goal is simple. I want to give you real, evidence based answers about your sleep, without the jargon and without the fear mongering. Whether you’re dealing with a diagnosed sleep disorder or just trying to feel more rested, I’m here to help you understand what’s actually going on and what you can do about it.
